I have to have a re excision as margins close in 2 places. Anyone else had this and did they get it the second time?
Hi
It happened to me too in April but they want me to start my chemo and have re excision in October which is now all clear . Good luck I’m sure it will be fine x
I asked for a mastectomy 3times but they said no !!! But I said if they hadn’t cleared the margin this time then I would of begged for one x
I don’t think you’re being OTT ArtyAnne, this journey is so hard with so many variables to think about. I am awaiting surgery which has been delayed a 4th time for various reasons such as discrepancies with the size between mammogram, US, MRI. To the point where I was wanting a mastectomy just to be sure they got all the cancer. However, I have considered the arguments for lumpectomy vs mastectomy given by my surgeon who is obviously an expert in this field. I have also considered available evidence and have decided to go for the lumpectomy. Fingers crossed all goes well. Best wishes
I didn’t have clear margins either as I have small breasts and the cancer is very close to the edge (inner) so I have opted for a mastectomy, surgeon was prepared to do a lumpectomy but didn’t seem all that hopeful of getting clear margins for a second time. Mastectomy is scheduled for Thursday and I’m going flat
