Hi all,
i was treated for 5cm DCIS last year- lumpectomy and radiotherapy. I had a clear mammogram in April of this year. A few months ago I started getting very tiny blisters on the tip of my nipple which would come and go and then one started to bleed. I referred back to breast outpatients who did a punch biopsy and the results confirmed Pagets disease of the nipple. I have to have a mammogram tomorrow to see if there is any other underlying cancer in that breast or the otherwise healthy breast. I could have gone down the lumpectomy route again if there is no underlying lump (which they can't feel there is one and they can't see one on ultrasound) but I have decided on mastectomy on that side. I seemed to manage quite well through treatment last year but this time I'm a complete mess. I think its the fear of the unknown this time. It was caught early last time and just DCIS. Im absolutely petrified that they will find something else in the mammogram.
Hi Gertie15
Welcome to the forum and I am sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with Pagets disease. What you are feeling is perfectly understandable.
Wishing you the best of luck with your mammogram tomorrow and hopefully they won't find anything else suspicious. Also best of luck with the mastectomy.
Best wishes
