Hi I had breast cancer 28 years ago and had a lumpectomy radiotherapy and chemo. I have a tumour again n the same breast and now need a mastectomy. I can't decide whether to have a double mastectomy or just a single. I struggled with a prosthesis last time and would like some advice regarding the options. Reconstruction won't be an option.
Hello CazH, I am sorry to hear that you are dealing with a reoccurrence of BC. I honestly can’t give you any advice on your question but I am sure there are other women who have been in your situation. Just one question how come you can’t have reconstruction on the breast?
I don’t know if they were even testing 28 years ago to see if your tumor was Estrogen positive etc. but that is one type that can reoccur many years after the first bout. Cancer sucks. I send you hugs and good wishes on whatever you decide to do and keep us posted.
