Hi Everyone
I was diagnosed with Invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC) back in July. After biopsy, mammogram etc. it was confirmed that It’s Grade 2, ER/PR + and HER2 -, tumour size 11 mm.
I had my surgery in August, with all the margins and sentinel lymph node being clear. Oncotype Dx results came last week with a 22 score. Now my Oncologist is suggesting ovarian suppression medication instead of Chemo.
I plan to take a second opinIon, however, I am wondering would it be wise to skip Chemo considering a score of 22 with regards to reoccurrence.
Moreover, I am premenopausal women and would like to conceive in a few years time. In this case either chemo or ovarian suppression which would be more safe for my ovaries (I have had my fertility preserved though).
If anyone had similar situation/experience it would be really helpful to know as it might facilitate my treatment decision.
Wish you all good luck in your journey and May it get easier for all of us.
Hi Niya
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. While I haven't been in a similar position I have a cousin who had a different cancer over 20 years ago. She had chemo and went on to have two children afterwards.
Hope this helps somewhat.
Best of luck whatever you decide to do.
Best wishes
