Hello all,
having been through a therapeutic mammoplasty for my BC I had high hopes that everything would be smooth sailing from here on out with an idea of the treatment pathway. However, life (and breast cancer in particular) likes to throw us curve balls and I have just been told that my hoped for treatment was now off the table.
Having excised a 5cm tumour it appears that the margins were not clear and more surgery is required on top of that of the 18 lymph nodes I had removed 15 contained cancer so chemotherapy is now the first active treatment I will be having. I don’t have an appointment to see the oncologist until the 1/11th although my breast care team are trying to move this up for me, I suppose my question is what to expect? I realise this is vague but having not been expecting it it came a bit of a shock!
