Hi just wondering if any one is currently having chemo prior to surgery for her 2 neg , ER positive , currently had 4 EC and due to switch to pacitaxil for 4 cycles . Feeling pretty wiped after 4th EC . Would be good to touch base with anyone either similar experience.
Hi, I’m just replying so that your post bounces back up to the top of the list.
I had neo-adjuvant chemo, prior to surgery and radiotherapy. I finished in June 2021. I was ok on EC, but I only had two cycles, because I had four cycles of Docetaxal. i wasn’t brilliant on the last cycle of the latter - I had quite bad mobility issues, lost my sense of taste and had joint pain. But it was soon over, and within a week of the last cycle I felt much, much better. X
Hiya!
I am the same as you - her2 neg, Er + and I am having neo adjuvant chemo. Also like you I am due to have 4x EC and 4x Paclitaxel, these are being done in 2 week cycles and I have to have the filstragim injections for 5 days after each chemo. I had the first 9 days ago and it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster as to how I’ve been feeling, I’ve only managed to go to work 3 days in this time, to be honest I think the injections are the absolute worst! The worst days were days 2-4 then I felt ok ish until the injections kicked in and then I had another 3 horrible days and I am only feeling better today so if it follows this pattern I should get 5 days feeling normal each cycle I’m guessing. Would you agree with this or is it cumulative and I will feel more horrible as time goes on?
Are your cycles 3 weekly or 2 weekly? The nurses that I have spoken to have said most people find the paclitaxel easier so you might be pleasantly surprised . x
Hi there thanks for your reply hope you are doing ok , yes I’m the same as you having cycles every 2 weeks with 7 days of injections each cycle . Had 4th EC last week, tends to hit me day 4-6 after chemo and agree injections are hideous and give me aches etc , try to manage it with heat packs and pain relief if really bad . Love doing the last one though .
Have been similar each cycle tbh luckily I don’t think symptoms have been any worse each cycle so fingers crossed for you. I have similar about pax so will let you know how I get on .
All the best and look forward to those good days x
Ah glad to hear things soon resolved after your last cycle I will certainly look forward to that.
all the best
Hi,
I was diagnosed with grade 3 triple negative back in june, i started my chemo july and am due my last dose tomorrow before i start on another two chemos next week. My treatment is different to yours, ive had carboplatin every 3 weeks and paclitaxel every week for the last 12 weeks, though i cant comment on EC, my experience with paclitaxel was pretty much straight forward, other than a bit of fatigue....no other side effects. Every third week when i had both treatments i was wiped out for 4 or 5 days, i put this down to the carboplatin. Fingers crossed youll sail through it. Good luck.
