Heart scan

Hi - I had a heart scan before treatments called an echo - as far as I’m aware we all need one - it’s to ensure your heart is strong to start chemo and they will rescan and compare at some point (not yet when as I’ve only completed 2 chemo cycles so far) to ensure no issues have appeared.  Once you’ve been given the all clear you will be given the date of your first session.

Hi jax007.went for my follow up yesterday & I too am waiting on heart scan before chemo can start.i have slow heart rate so they are checking I will be OK but it seems the heart checks are routine for chemo. Big hugs.x

yep ll get heart scan pre chemo 

I had a heart scan after my first cycle which was fine. 

I had a heart scan ahead of chemo to check I was OK to go ahead as chemo can damage your heart. I didn't have any follow up scan when chemo was finished.

I had scan 2 days after my 1st chemo and I'm due for another in a couple of weeks.
