Hi
I was just looking to see other peoples opinions really and how long they waited to start treatment
Found out i had breast cancer on 10th july had lumpectomy on 14th july due to a cancellation . Had my first oncology appointment on 31st August to which he told me my options for treatment and gave me a week to decide. I have decided to go with what ever has been offered to me. He said he would see me in two weeks time. But i have not received an appointment . I have tried chasing but all i get told was no appointments available and i am on a spreadsheet and should be assigned to one soon.
how long are you allowed to wait to start treatment? I am nearly at 9 weeks post operation , i thought cut off was 12 weeks??
I am really getting stressed out with all the waiting around.
any help be greatly appreciated
xx
If you are getting stressed speak to your breast care team at hospital. I had my lumpectomy on November fifth started chemo 5th January. But that was potentially because I was initially seen and treated privately. My oncologist does both private and NHS work so I saw him to discuss treatment privately but then decided to do chemo on NHS so he fitted me in his clinic.
Thank you for reply.
I wait till thursday see if i hear anything and if not will raise my concerns with my breast cancer nurse. I have been very patient waiting for my appointment with oncologist just thought things would start moving now but i was wrong.
