Hi just an update and I hope this text greets you well!
The day for chemo arrived 31st August - it came and it went, as they are want to do!
So here I am a week later .....
I'm feeling pretty ok on the whole, the wretched nausea passed after a few days and I am so pleased to say the anti sickness tablets did their job very well. My newly purchased sick bowl remains unused atm!
I'm early days of course, only day 8 on cycle 1.
2 more Filgrastim injections to do, which have been ok so far. Tenderness on the base of my neck, headaches and insomnia have been the only real side effects there.
Appetite is poor, but I am eating albeit half size ish portions of healthy food at each meal. Plenty of vitamins and protein seems the way to go.
If all stays well over the weekend I'm hoping I will be well enough to go into work next week. Even if I just do half days, a few days a week,it will break up every day merging into the next, and I'm fortunate I have my own little office so I can stay as isolated as I need to. But I will decide on that over the next few days.
I hope you are all doing well and getting some enjoyment out of the simple things in life if you can xx

Hi Hartley and welcome to the forum. So glad that treatment is going ok so far its not easy at all but it sounds like you are managing to keep positive and upbeat and thats great.
Thank you so much for sharing your post and I hope that the rest of your treatment goes well.
Sending very best wishes your way for now. x
Thanks Granny59!
I am definitely 'out the other side' at the moment, which I am super pleased about!
I am actually at work today, I thought I would dip my toes so to speak, and I (hopefully) intend on doing Monday, Weds & Friday with this being my good week - but I will see how I go. I am extremely lucky that work are allowing me to dip in and out at my own leisure and capability if that makes sense.
I have been treated like a VIP I have to say, which has definitely given me a boost
I am due bloods early next week with cycle 2 scheduled for 21st Sept, so thank you very much for your good wishes and take care
