I start my first cycle of Abemaciclib tomorrow and wondered what other people have experienced with this and any tips to help with side effects x
Hi Tricia
I am on cycle 7 of Abemaciclib along with Letrozole. I have been very fortunate with minimal l side effects of having to rush to the loo every so often but I quickly found out that eating certain foods triggered it and it really settled down. My bloods have been fine so far and I manage to work full time I just watch what I eat.
Happy to answer any other questions that you have.
Libby
Hi there, I'm on cycle 13.
I had a dose reduction agreed by my oncologist cycle 7 due to diarrhoea & fatigue issues. Has helped a bit. I avoid certain foods, basically anything high fibre & too much fruit & veg.
Main issues for me have been, fatigue, diarrhoea, thinning & slow growing hair, brittle & ridged nails. Have definitely had to change my day to day routines to cope but hope it will be worth it
They keep a really close eye with regular bloods & reviews. I take anastrozole with it & am having Zoldronic acid infusions every 6 months at the moment
You will hear varying accounts & you won't really know how you will feel until you start.
All the best x
