I’m devastated.
glands clear on uss but micromets on sentinel lymph node biopsy.
seeing my surgeon on Monday.
I don’t know if this now means chemo , ancillary node clearance, radiotherapy or all.
im post menopausal stage 2b.the news had been better up until now as I’m oestrogen receptor positive pr pos and Her2 neg.
Has anyone had similar?
Hi Polly17
I had a small amount of micromets in one of the 2 sentinel lymph nodes I had removed. The oncologist offered me both chemo and radiotherapy because of this which I took.
I was post menopausal, with stage 1 grade 3 triple negative breast cancer so I wanted to throw everything I could at it.
Hi Polly
I had three nodes removed during lumpectomy (2/8). 1 of the three had cancer cells.
Up until then I was due for radiotherapy followed by 5 or 10 years of tablets. Now I am waiting for oncotype dx results to come back to see if chemo is recommended aswell.
The oncotype gives an indication of reoccurrence, those with a higher score are offered chemo. A lower scores means chemo is not believed to be beneficial.
Good luck for Monday.
xx
Hi - I was told they were 95% sure lymph nodes were clear based on MRI but unfortunately sentinel node biopsy came back positive for cancer so I had to have full node clearance at same time as mastectomy.A further 2 nodes were positive after surgery so I needed to have chemo.Wishing u all the very best with your appointment on Monday.xx
had very similar, micro in sentinel, they did onco test, doing the chemo. but wait for the test it may come back low.
were other lymphs clear? how many did they take? they took two or three ad the others were clear so no more lymph surgery for me, but chemo was on the table as 2a spready according to test
If you have node involvement micromets is what you want. Its small and early. Hang on to the PR positive bit too - much better prognostically even with LN involved. I hope you get a plan soon. Also maybe look at cancer active and yes to life. I found both very encouraging sites when I feel fed up with something. And the macmillan support line is brilliant for getting things off your chest too. x
