Hi everyone, So i had a mastectomy without reconstruction 6 weeks ago and recovering really well with no chemo or radio required, then to my horror I found a lump in my other breast 2 days ago. Called hospital and nurse rang back to give me an appointment to come in and tried to reassure me that it shouldn't be cancer since they checked that breast thoroughly 3 months ago etc etc. I am a bit terrified though because the other cancer didn't show up on a routine mammogram a few months before I found a lump... This lump is just under the skin and feels smooth and oval shaped which I gather is likely to be a cyst but still I won't be convinced til it's checked out! I wonder did anyone else have this experience, possibly as result of coming off HRT and starting Anastrozole, so massive hormone shake-up?? I hope to God that's it. I have been super-positive this first time around and don't think I can take it if I have to go through it all again. Thanks for reading. Rant over xxx
Hi, I saw that you haven’t had any replies yet, so I thought I’d reach out and give you a virtual hug. Things on here can be quieter at the weekend. It’s good that you have an appointment booked, but the waiting can be really hard. It is scary … I know. I don’t think you are ranting, you are just expressing your fears. Very normal. Big hug x
I know how you feel, I found another lump a good few months ago, played out every scenario in my mind. BC team were great, speedy appt, immediate ultrasound and told it was normal tissue much to my relief. I hope you are seen quickly and have my fingers crossed for you x
Thanks Gardinia. I'm hopeful that the sudden appearance of the lump, visible on the surface actually, plus the oval shape is classic cyst but Bl***y Hell PLEASE give me a break! (am sure we're not supposed to swear here haha). I don't think my loved ones could cope with another shocker either! x
