Hi everyone
I was diagnosed in June, have had mammography, scan, ultrasound with biopsy & insert
I was diagnosed with grade 2 ductal
I have chosen to have a lumpectomy with therapeutic mammoplasty & reduction mammoplasty
Has anyone else been through this treatment and how did it go for you?
Many thanks
Chisi
Hi Chisi, Sorry you were diagnosed and welcome to the forum. I was diagnosed with grade 2 invasive ductal as well. Had my lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy on Monday. The procedure was fine, not as bad as I thought it would be. The scars are healing well and look ok. Still swollen and bruised but that will go. Doing the exercises for my arm, which really do help. Plus wearing the support bra day and night. Keeps everything from too much jarring. Make sure you rest up afterwards and take things easy. Went for a walk today, but only to end of our street, found it very tiring. I keep fit as much as possible, so was surprised I couldn’t walk further. So have to take it bit by bit. Wish you all the best with your treatment and hope all goes well. Hugs x
hi chisi,
had a lumpectomy in April and another surgery in May. no reduction, and am just passed first chemo.
i found reading someone’s experience who was on a similar journey helpful.i found a woman on breastcancernow who had similar diagnosis and reading her posts maybe helped prepare me. buti also find so many here helpful who have been there, are there or are going there.
sorry you are here, but you will get through and find a lot of help here
I was diagnosed with bilateral Brest cancer in February. I managed to have two different cancers in one breast with two nodes positive. I had bilateral mammaplasty in April. Had surgery at lunchtime and went home in the evening. I was sent home with big dressings on which were attached to batteries to crate a gentle suction to promote blood flow into the operated area.
I was told that I could have this operation because my breasts were quite large 38E. I healed very well and have a beautiful pair of matching breasts.
I had the oncogene test which came out at 28 so needed to have chemotherapy. I have had 3 sessions with the EC and three more with digi something.
ihave used the cold cap but have lost 80% of my hair, but have been told it will come back quicker if I continue to use it.
I hope this information is helpful
gentle hugs
