MRI breast biopsy private appointments?

I need an MRI led biopsy on a second lump as they can't locate it on ultra sound and it's a 6 week wait on the nhs which my surgeon is not happy to wait for. He wants to do a mastectomy but if the second lump is not cancerous I only need a lumpectomy.

I'm trying to find somewhere private to get it done but everyone I have called so far does mri but doesn't do mri led biopsies.

Does anyone have any idea of where I can get this done?

Hi Deanie, sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Have you tried Royal Marsden, Gatwick Park or Jarvis Breast Screening Clinic. I had my biopsy done there, it wasn’t an mri led one as I didn’t need that but they may be able to offer that. Alternatively you might be able to ring Bupa and see if they can point you in the direction of a private hospital that’s does this. I’m surprised your surgeon hasn’t suggested somewhere as I would have thought he would know of a hospital that could offer that privately.

Thank you, its adding to the stress but my doc has gone on holiday for 2 weeks. Bupa is a good shout ill give them a call xx
