Hi everyone

Has anyone got experience with muscle and bone pain, with tummy pain after Paclitaxel?

I’ve just started this on a 2 weekly cycle

Thanks

  • Hi i am the same i use hot water bottle and take flarin tablets that helps. Big hugs x

  • Yes i have this too. It's usually worse at night so I take paracetamol before bed and often have to take some during the night. Throbbing back pain is the worst and that's usually from about days 6-7.

  • Hi, I'm currently on Paclitaxel and I have such bad bone pain, but I'm not sure if it's from that or the Neulasta shots I have to get to boost white blood cells! Either way, I spoke to my oncologist and she prescribed Cetrine (an antihistamine) and Ponstan. It's interesting that you mentioned tummy pain because I too found that the bone pain was worse in my pelvic area. It actually felt like womb pain/period pain. I've done two cycles of Pac now and the pain usually happens from days 3 to 6. At least it passes though. I hope you are doing OK.

  • Thank you so much for all the replies .They really help. Sending best of wishes to all of youxx

  • I found regular paracetamol and heat the most helpful. Someone here suggested loratidine too and that helped me. It does settle. Mine was worst on round one and much more manageable on subsequent rounds

  • Hi - I used to get pains in my legs (always worse at night) when I was on fortnightly cycles of Paclitaxel. I took paracetamol and used a hot water bottle, as mentioned by others, but I also found that exercise helped A LOT. Walking as far as I could every day meant I was through the worst of the achy & twitchy legs by about Day 5. The walking also helped to alleviate the tingling & numbness in my feet. Good luck! xx
