Hi all
I am.triple positive BC diagnosed end December 2022 surgery 7 February 23, treatment started 3 May 23, I’ve had 3 sessions of Docetaxel, Carboplatin and 2 Herceptin injections but due to various issues the first, second and now forth have been delayed each by a week.
The most recent today is following my bloods which are showing an increased liver function reading. I have gallstones which can impact my liver function too so I am not sure if it’s the chemo or gallbladder causing the issue.
Has anyone had so many deferrals?
Hi V1972
Sorry to hear that you were diagnosed with triple positive BC. While I didn't have as many deferrals of treatment I noticed that you haven't received any replies so I thought I'd reply to you to move you to the top of the discussion. Hopefully someone will be along with an answer for you soon.
Best wishes

I've just finished chemo a couple of days ago & have had delays due to hospitalisation with infections ... Always worrying but I assumed it was fine unless they said it was an issue. I find the Herceptin slightly odd as have had different messages about missing it: finally seemed to settle on if it's an injection in leg, it's every 3 wks but you can stretch it to a 4 wk gap happily. I'm not sure what happens if you leave it longer - I had a problem where it didn't seem to be prescribed suddenly and I realize I've had a 5 wk gap between Dose 2&3 ... I don't really want to ask but have decided that over the course of 18 doses, that weenie glitch at the beginning will be ok. Still, you ought to ask your BCN or chemo team and not put your head in the sand as I have - it was early days and I didn't really understand any of it - or that sometimes they forget if you're having all the chemo infusions too so best to keep a check yourself & always ask if you're worried or unsure.
Thanks for replying BinkyinBed! I only had 3ml of 10ml of the Herceptin last time as I passed out so they had to remove it and wouldn’t re-administer or give another vile,(due to the cost) so 6 weeks since I had my last full Herceptin nothing I can do I suppose. I also have 18 injections in total so fingers crossed it will be ok
I sent an email to my consultants secretary this morning and by 10:30 they had called me to say it could now go ahead today but that they would give me a lower dose of docetaxal. Something is better than nothing and I didn’t have any reactions or issues today. First time!
