Hi all, I was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer in 2021, originally I was on Anastrozol, which was fine, but then started getting really bad joint pain, then changed to Exemestane in February this year, my problem is for the past year, I have been having almost constant urinary track infections, with antibiotics every time, which clears for a week or so, then the infection is back.  I have been referred to the urologists for further investigation.  I spoke to my breast consultant who has said I could possibly have vaginal oestrogen pessary if I change my medication to Tamoxifen.  After everything I’ve read Tamoxifen is a route I’d rather avoid, but also can’t continue with all these urinary infections… has anyone else been in the same or similar position with UTIs.  Any advise would be great xx

  • I take d-mannose daily and it is amazing. I was taking it prior to cancer diagnosis but since main treatment and then hormone therapy, I have upped my dose to twice daily and it really keeps UTIs at back.

Highly recommend it. I just take it in powder form in a drink. I found the fillers in the pills made my tummy a bit off.

  • Absolutely works.  Interesting how it works.  D-mannose is a sugar and when you take it it gets into the bladder and the bacteria eat it and when you urinate out goes the bacteria. Only works on ecoli though so if you have another bacteria you would not see results and need to see Doctor.
