Sorry for such a personal matter but I am halfway through my chemo and for my fourth round was switched onto a different drug, Doxetacel. I developed a very painful rash all around my groin area, the Dr prescribed Timotin cream which is a mild steroid but it provides no relief, i have resorted to using ice packs to cool the area but I am worried that the skin may start to bleed as it is getting very sore. I just wondered if anyone else had this experience and if there is a cream or product out there that might help. Many thanks
Hi I know what you mean, I suffered terribly with soreness and itching down below during and after chemo. I went to my GP who did a swab and found I had an infection that needed antibiotics. I was also prescribed canesten with hydrocortisone for the itching which really helped. To manage day to day she gave me epaderm ointment for washing and YES vaginal moisturiser to use externally for relief. I am only just back to normal now a year after chemo. I hope you get some relief soon.
Ouch!! Sounds so sore and rashes are awful. Colloidal oatmeal baths are very soothing but I think GW1969 about having swan done for infection and possibly wstronger steroid cream. Take care.
