Hi all.

I've started my chemo but after the first cycle I caught an infection so it’s been delayed till I am allowed to have it.
My question is my scalp is now starting to get very sensitive and thinking of getting my hair cut short (pixie cut) when did anyone start thinking about cutting their hair?
I’m using the cold cap to try and help keep it for as long as possible.  I am thinking positive of body hair loss of not having to shave my legs in the summer.

thank you in advance for any advice.

  • I’ve just been discussing this with my oncologist as I’m about to start chemo. They advised going for a short cut as there will be  less weight to your hair which is better if you are trying to save it.  Go for it! Good luck xx

  • Hi I’m about to have my 5th chemo. My scalp was so sensitive and I started to loose my hair 2 weeks after my first dose. The day after my second I shaved my thin scraggly hair off and I am now bald. I have a few eyelashes left and almost no eyebrows. However I was like you have said going to cut my hair short into the style of the wig I’d bought for work, I am pleased I didn’t though as mine fel out really quickly. Good luck with whatever you choose to do Blush
