hello
ive been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer and I’m being treated with immunotherapy along with my cheno. The immunotherapy is called Pembrolizumab. I’ve been told it works by the immune system working against itself. It’s causing me lots of anxiety as I don’t really understand this amd what will happen to me as treatments go on, I’ve only had one so far. Has anyone else had this treatment?
Mamy thanks
Hello Betsy 23, I understand that all these drugs can be confusing. This drug is called Keytruda here in US and used in both early and advanced TNBC. Has made a huge difference in survival. I found a link that explains the drug and may be helpful https://www.breastcancer.org/research-news/fda-approves-keytruda-for-early-stage-triple-negative-breast-cancer#
This drug has been a game changer for sure and research keeps making strides.
I was not triple negative but I like to do research. I am ER+ and PR+. Take care.
