  • Hi Wolfie2023

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you were diagnosed with breast cancer and needed a mastectomy.  While I haven't had the experience you are looking for I thought I'd reply to you anyway to welcome you to the forum.  I suggest that you ring your breast care nurse and explain what's happening to them and they should be able to help you.

    Best wishes

  • I had a single left mastectomy, with reconstruction and port for expanding/deflating. The drain was in for about ten days, I think.

I didn't get spots (or don't remember them!); I did feel like my body was swollen, in particular my legs/upper thighs. I tried to keep moving - making a cup of tea, going outside (my surgery was in July 2021 when we have beautiful weather), and eventually wandering very slowly round the block with a friend. The swelling did pass - can't remember how long it took to feel normal, I'm afraid.

    Take care,

    Diane.

  • Thank you so much for your reply was so worried today I started to feel sick so rang my consultant and I got an appointment at the hospital straight away to see him. It turns out it was my antibiotics they were to strong so he gave me some new ones with a  much lower dose so just going to see how I go on them

  • Thank you I rang the hospital and got sorted out

  • Glad to hear you got sorted.
