New lump after treatment

Hi, just wondering if anyone has experienced a new lump after completing their treatment?

I was diagnosed last Sept, large tumour so had a masectomy in Oct and full auxiliary clearance 6/22 positive nodes.  Six rounds of chemo completed in Feb then 5 days of radiotherapy. In the last two weeks I started on letrozole then this weekend I found a new lump. I don't know what to think, I've spoke to the BCN and they are going to try and get me an appt for next week.

So anxious that it's happening again and that it can even be possible within a short space of time.

  • Hi Cgt

Sorry to hear that you had breast cancer and needed a  mastectomy.  The chances are that if the lump is under your mastectomy scar it's scar tissue but it's best to get in checked out even if it's just to set your mind at rest.

Wishing you the best of luck with your appointment when you have it.

    Best wishes

  • Thanks for replying.  Unfortunately the lump is in the other breast.

  • I had a new lump in my remaining breast during chemo - that one turned out to be a cyst. Hoping you get an equally reassuring outcome.  It was terrifying.

  • Thank you for replying. It really is terrifying, I'm trying to reassure myself that it's unlikely to be sinister as I've only just completed treatment but all the doubts and 'what ifs' creep in. I'm so glad yours was a cyst x
