Hi everyone,
I just wondered if anyone knew what the guidelines are for calcium supplementation when having 6 monthly zoledronic acid. I have been told different things by 2 BCNs and am now quite confused ! :)
Thank you
I have been given AdCal (calcium and vitamin D) to take twice a day. I was originally told to stop the vitamin D supplement I needed as my levels were very low but have an E been told to continue that as the vitamin D in these is needed to absorb the calcium.
Hello WMK, I have zolendronic acid infusions annually.....I had my first in Feb, I take Calcium prescribed by my GP, which Breast surgeon requested....I don’t usually take these I buy my own Ostecare....Vitabiotics as these don't seem to have as many additives. Osteoporosis Nurse said these are OK to take. Don't know if this will help you? Good luck
Thank you for your reply.
That is very helpful, and follows the information one of my BCNs gave me.
Take Care
Hi, 1st zoledromic infusion last month, which will be every 6 months for 3yrs. Gave me calcium tabs for 1 month only. Also having zadcyla every 3 weeks until September. This week at kadcyla session, calcium levels were ok.
Advised to keep up calcium levels by eating almonds, bananas, peanuts & green leaves.
Hope this helps.
