Lung Mets - cough and mucus?

Does anyone have any experience with coughing / sore throat and lung mets please?

The cough started around the time perindopril was added as a heart protection drug. Before this, despite the mets, there was very little coughing.

Blood infection markers are slightly up but just coughing lots and producing lots of clear mucus / phlegm. No breathlessness or chest pain at all. Still active... just coughing.

The hospital are going to look to see if the Kadcyla is causing any lung issues but it just sounds so terrible I am worrying!

  • I had things in my lungs that were first identified as mets, and I was coughing a lot. When those things were taken out, one was found to be cancerous although not breast cancer met, and the others were harmless in themselves, but I was told they were causing irritation that in turn produced the coughing.

I hope the hospital can provide some answers soon, or at least rule out certain causes. It is also possible that you might have picked up a bit of an infection (based on the bloods you describe) that has nothing to do with cancer, but of course, with lung mets, it's understandable that the mind goes there first.
