Morning, I've been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, I started my first round of chemo on Monday. I felt OK on Tuesday but since then my legs are very painful and my groin area and also numb toes. Does anyone have any remedies to help relieve it please? I hardly slept last night and having 3 young children to look after, it's hard work. Thank you x

  • Hi   sorry you find yourself here but welcome to the group .

My advice  is you should ring your chemo unit and tell them your symptoms they can then prescribe something for you and give advice . At the very least they can put your mind at rest if they feel it’s a SE from your chemo .

Make sure you mention all symptoms as they may decide to adjust your chemo dose .

  • Hi Parker27, I agree with Northerner, call the helpline to double check things. I had lower leg pain no groin pain (was ok not a dvt) and my oncologist suggested tonic water. I tried it and amazingly it worked. Think it’s the quinine in it that helps.
Also they can adjust the dose next round if they need too to help.

    Wishing you all the best
