Hi al,
Just back from follow up appointment following vaccuum assisted biopsy a couple of weeks ago. MDT has assessed adenomyoepithelioma and now I need to have surgery. Concerned about risk of recurrence and high rate of potential future cancer. Has anyone else had any experience with this diagnosis, treatment and prognosis that they can share?
From here: (it's an American government website)
"Adenomyoepithelioma is as very rare type of benign tumor of the breast. These lesions rarely undergo a malignant transformation and are even less likely to metastasize."
It is probably not a bad idea to go over this in detail with your team so that they can explain in detail what this all means to your specific case, including how they are proposing to monitor you.
