Hi
Had 2 vacuum biopsies yesterday and now I just need to know the results - please can you all tell me how long you waited or what the average time wait is?
I am beyond panicking as the biopsies almost cover the whole side of my right breast so if results are sinister I doubt a lumpectomy (which I had last time) would be suitable
the radiography consultant said results would go to a DTM meeting next Thursday and that seems years away - sure I read some ladies got their results before the DTM ??
waiting is definitely the worst part in this journey for me
thanks in advance
I was two weeks exactly from biopsy to results - it was discussed at the MDT and I was called in next day. Hope yours is quick - waiting is definitely one of the hardest bits.
Hi Esta welcome to the forum and I am sorry to hear about how worried that you are and I can assure you that you are not alone in feeling as you do. This part waiting for the results is the worst bit of the whole journey and sadly, much as we would like to, there isnt much too except wait as it will go to a team to be discussed and then when you get seen they will have a plan for you which they will discuss,
I can understand as well why you may be worried given the large are of breast that is involved but you wont know with any certainty until those results come back and it may be that they have taken from such a large area to be sure which areas are affected if that makes sense? Some could yet come back showing clear margins?
We are here for you though and will support you as best we can. In the meantime all I can suggest is to keep super busy and it makes the time go quicker but I will be thinking of you. xxxx
Lullabelle thank you for reply - days just seem so long waiting
hope you are on the other side of this x
thank you for replying - they have already told me there are two areas of 18mm each hence the large area of biopsy don’t think it’s looking great so trying to prepare myself … so appreciate all the replies - makes me feel less alone xx
My results were exactly one week from biopsies and it was the longest week of my life. Whatever the results are, there will be a very effective treatment. I wasn’t told any dates for DTM just that I would see breast surgeon for results and planned treatment. All areas are different. Fingers crossed you don’t have to wait long.
Just going through chemo now - and to add I had two areas biopsied as well, they told me one area was cancer when they were actually doing the biopsy they were so sure which left me reeling, but the other area they were unsure about. They are just being thorough which is what we all want - hang in there, the days seem long but somehow they pass. Good luck and let us know xx
Lullabelle hope you are coping with the chemo - this is my second time around as had BC left side 2 years ago .. wish they had given me a heads up yesterday as I am better when I know what’s happening
sending love and hugs and thankyou for reply x
The hospital called me to say I have a follow up the week after my op for results x
