Delayed chemotherapy due to raised liver enzymes

Hello! I am a newbie here. I am 34 y/o recently diagnosed with triple positive breast cancer, stage 3. I already finished my 2 chemo, however, my onco have to delay my 3rd dose because my liver enzymes skyrocketed.
Does anyone have the same experience as mine?

I am so depressed and scared the cancer might spread due to the delay. It’s been almost 5 weeks since my last chemo.

Any advise on how to lower down my liver enzymes? Thank you.

  • Hi Kre

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. While I haven’t any advice on how to lower down your liver enzymes I noticed you haven’t had any replies yet so I thought I’d reply to you and welcome you to the community.

Wishing you the best of luck with the rest of your treatment.

  • Hi there, I had high liver levels too but they remained just within the limit.  I ate lots of broccoli, spinach & mango as these are supposed to be good “liver” foods - not sure if it helped keep my levels from getting too high but it certainly didn’t do any harm.

My alt level was 130 or thereabouts at my last chemo.  I continued eating my liver friendly food after chemo finished & my bloods at my post chemo checkup were back to normal.

Good luck & I hope you can continue your treatment soon xxx
