Hi! I am stating chemotherapy next week, it will be docetaxel- carboplarin- pertuzumab- trastuzumab. Have anyone been there, on this drugs? Any idea what to expect?
I have 3 little children, wondering if be able to do everyday activities with them- school runs, cooking tea… ?
Hi, this is the same combination that I was on and I had 6 cycles, 3 weeks apart. Everyone reacts differently to chemo so it is very hard to say what it will be like for you. I had a few side effects, though I did manage to keep working through, but on flexible hours. Each cycle I found 1-2 days that were worse than others, then it got progressively better towards the end of the 3 weeks.
If it helps, take a look at my blog, Khufu give you an idea of how I managed. Chemo blog
Best of luck
Thank you. I have checked your blog- brilliant tips. Left a comment. I see you posted it on 2021, is everything okay with you, chemotherapy killed it all?
I’m having surgery after chemotherapy. Did you have as well?
Hi, chemo killed it completely before surgery, so I only had to have a lumpectomy. Then I had radiotherapy and am now on daily hormone tablets and 6 monthly bone infusions. I blogged a lot throught as it helped me so you can read the whole story if you're bored one day
Best of luck with getting started
