Once my surgery is completed I’ll be having radiotherapy

I have a friend who had radiotherapy in New Zealand and they seem to swear by Mepitel film to reduce skin damage. She shared a published research report (albeit a small scale study) which showed it was very effective, however I’ve not seen this mentioned over here and wondered if anyone had been offered it?

  • Hi, sorry, no experience of that product. But when I had the planning appt. with the radiotherapist she was very reassuring about skin reactions - some people react but some don't, and they can't tell who will, although because I had small breasts (less chafing) she thought I'd be fine, and I was. The Cancer Centre also gave out a large tub of Aquamax cream which worked well for me.
