Hi,

For anybody that has leg cramps with anastrozole. How many months do they go on for? I've been on anastrozole for 4 months now, and the other side effects have mostly gone.

Any tips for reducing the number or severity of leg cramps?

Thank you.

  • Hi Louise, I’m not on any tablets at the moment as I’m still having chemo but I have found tonic water has helped me with leg cramps.
    Wishing you all the best.

  • Hi Louise42,  well those leg cramps have to be a real pain.  I have been in Anastrazole (accord brand) for almost 10 months and so far so good no leg cramps.  My dry mouth is my worst symptom during the night and my mouth is as dry as the desert!!

How about taking epsom salt bath?  Relaxing and it is just magnesium sulfate.  It may help.  Just stay well hydrated and get the exercise in your daily routine.  Also read that taking hello mustard can help too.  You know those little packs they give you at restaurants.  My hubby used to take with him on bike ride and when he got cramps would squeeze a packet in his mouth and he said instant felt better.
    Hopefully they will go away.
