Hi,
I had an elective mastectomy at the beginning of November and it wasn't as bad as I expected and definitely feel Imade the right decision. I experienced relatively little pain which was manageable with ibuprofen and paracetamol.
Just wondered how long the recovery period is, ive still not got full stretch in my arm and experiencing discomfort, numbness and pain on my chest.
Thank you
Hi MaryP123
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you were diagnosed with breast cancer. While I didn’t have a mastectomy I thought I’d reply to you to put your question to the top of the discussion. Hopefully someone will be along shortly with an answer for you.
Best wishes

Hi MaryP123 i also had a mastectomy in November i suffered with some cording in affected arm (though i did also have ANC) which took some time to correct as i was not able to fully straighten my so i saw a physio and would say by mid Dec the cording corrected itself and i saw a huge improvement started working on stretching as you say but since then ive started chemo (in the new year) which has set me back a bit, i do try and keep up with the exercses shown until im able to restart seeing the physio. Hope this helps x
