My mum's chemotherapy finished in December, her radiotherapy finished on 16th of Jan. She thinned a lot but managed to keep some of her hair. My mams hair is now clearly growing back at a quite impressive rate, I know this may sounds trivial to some but I know it means a lot to her, when will she be able to dye her hair? This is one thing mum talks about and I keep saying there's no rush but to her it's the normality back and who am I to argue after what she has been through the past year. Thank you all in advance xx keep fighting
Hi Jodie87 there is a site online called look good feel better and they have a hair expert on there that does online zoom meetings if you don,t want to do the zoom meetings they have videos and tutorials and you are able to email them for advice too. I do remember her saying not to bleach your hair with peroxide based chemicals. It's worth going on for advice. Jxxxx
Hi Jodie87
my chemo finished late December 2021. I lost about 70% of my hair and the remainder went mostly grey. Like your mum, mine grew back quickly. I bought some ammonia-free dye from the supermarket in early April, and the photos from the time show it looked pretty good (although short!). Definitely, dying my hair made me look and feel a lot younger.
best of luck to you both xxx
