Anastrozole!

Hi all. I've been taking Anastrozole for just 2 months. So far so good - except constant runs to the loo!!  A side effect is diarrhoea, but I wonder if anyone has found a change to diet to be helpful please?  I was lucky enough to be away for a couple of weeks over Christmas, in a hot climate, and whilst there I was so much better.  I realised I was not drinking tea there and drinking a lot more water.

So now home I've cut out ordinary tea, and trying to drink more water - without any real improvement.  Anyone tried any herbal teas to be beneficial please?  I have peppermint tea the most.

Thanks for reading this!

  • Hello there,  I have been on Anastrazole since May 2022 and also have IBS so that is a challenge.  I don’t think the Anastrazole has made my diarrhea worse.  I drink peppermint tea and I use the medicinal grade from Heather’s tummy care . Get it on Amazon.  I also take peppermint oil capsules from same company.  Delicious hot or cold snd really helps me.  Another good thing for diarrhea is plain white rice.  Not considered the healthiest rice but it works.  I hope you get relief.  Caffeine is a trigger for my diarrhea so I am careful with it.  Hope you get better.

  • I’ve been taking Anestrozole since September but haven’t been too bad. I get low moods some days but can’t be certain if that is the Anestrozole. I always drink Green Mint Tea, I take a daily probiotic and Turmeric for my joints.I don’t have any tum problems and joints are fine. About six years ago I had awful tummy problems, diarrhea and nausea. I tried everything but finally got recommended Optibac probiotics which I have taken every day since. They are not cheap but they have sorted my tum out.
