I was diagnosed in March 21 with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy in the April.
I subsequently went on to develop a seroma on the right side which was drained numerous time before having surgery in August last year where it was washed out. This did not help and i have recently had quilting surgery and gluing done which again looks like it has been unsuccessful. I am now being told i am probably going to have to learn to live with it!
I wondered if anyone else has experienced this?
I am feeling really fed up as it is just never ending.
Thanks for reading.
Hi, sorry to hear you are struggling, that sounds very frustrating. I did notice you've not had any replies yet, as the site is quite busy. My response will bump you back to the top and I am sure someone with the right experience will be along soon. Best wishes
Hello Karrie0603. Sorry you are having these problems. I can only say one thing which may help, or not. My breast surgeon told me the more you drain a seroma, the more it encourages it to fill up again! I’m sorry but that’s all I know. I too had seroma which got drained a couple of times. When I went in for ultrasounds my surgeon would say “don’t let him drain it” but of course the ultrasound guy would say “that needs draining” !!! Best wishes J xx
