Hello,
I’ve just had my fourth round of chemo. My last three were EC and my new one is Docetaxel. I’ve had some pretty rough side effects. The muscle pain was unbearable. I’m over the worst of it but still feeling pretty rough.
Does anyone have any advice about managing the pain and any idea whether I will get some reprieve before my next round in two week?
Thank you x
I found Paracetemol surprisingly effective for the pain. My oncologist recommended starting it before the pain comes in, which for me was about day 3. The pain and chills only lasted a few days for me, though the side effects seem to keep coming with docetaxel!
They ended up reducing my dosage for the final 2 rounds and it was more manageable.
Hi it really hits you the difference. I had one dose and no more lots of problems and had to call an ambulance one night. My oncologist said cumulative so suggested no more as would have got worse. You can ask to reduce the dose.I had lots of side effects and went back to FEC for last 2. I do worry sometimes if it made a difference not having it but treatment meant to be mop up so just hope. We are all different some are fine with it all. Good luck x
