HI there
I have been diagnosed with a Grade 2 invasive ductal carcinoma - not spread to lymph nodes - had my op and about to start radiotherapy...
My main concern is the awful horror stories am reading about letrozole - side effects sound absolutely horrendous - such confusion around which brands are best - want to stick to one brand but don't know where to start
Can anyone help with which brands are best - Femara seems to be well received but too expensive to request - as it we haven't been through enough already - now told we aren't worthy of a branded medication - any advice would be really helpful
I know it is worrying reading all the side effects and some people do seem to suffer more than others. I would just go with what you are prescribed and see how you get on.Everyone is different and you might find that side effects are minimal.I have been on Anestrozole since September. Its okay, I am finding them not too bad so will carry on for now. I have had slightly raised cholesterol and because of my age, 74, I am taking statins. I had same diagnosis as you and I felt exactly the same when prescribed HT for five years but having completed radiotherapy in mid November I actually feel almost back to normal.
