Hi my breast cancer has spread after 10 years to my sturnum so have been put on Fulvestrant injections once a month and Palbociclib every day tablet for 3 weeks and then one week off.

If anyone else on this combo and if so how are you getting on?

  • Hi  sorry to hear your cancer has returned, I hope you are doing ok. I noticed your post hasn't had any replies yet and as the site is quite busy it's dropped down a few pages.  I don't have the right experience myself, but this answer will bump you back up to the top and I hope someone will be along soon to answer your question. Best wishes

    1. Hi there, I had breast cancer 5 years ago, lumpectomy & radiotherapy Stage 1. Last year bone mets (lesions) found by chance when I had an mri for a possible bulging disc. Found very early, (was told I was lucky didn’t feel it!)  no pain from mets, only pain from bulging discs. Had been on Tamoxifen, changed to Letrozole on diagnosis, plus Palbo like you and denusobab injections once a month. So, 17 months on I have aches and pains and trouble sleeping some nights but all manageable. My hair has really thinned that’s been the hardest part of this. I’ve now got a hair piece for the top & really helped me to feel myself again. No one knows or notices! Just compliments on my hair looking nice. My bloods have been fine every time I’ve had appt and I had pet scans every 3 months now every 5/6 months - longer period because I am responding very well, they are very pleased and say areas are contained &/or shrinking. It’s been tough, I wanted to do my bucket list in a week but coming to terms with the long journey I’m on. (Hopefully) Wishing you strength - we are warriors. Hope my post helps you.
  • Thank you sooo much for taking the time to answer me x my hair is thinning too and I have just said to my husband that it’s funny we go from thinking we are going to die to when we are given meds that our hair thinning is what we focus on. It’s so important to me and I have considered a hair piece, I had hair extensions last year which I loved but didn’t solve the top of my hair which was thinning, so thank you I will investigate a hair piece. I have been told that my two meds will last a year before the cancer breaks through it so am booking lots of holidays while I can. Xxx
