Hi, I’ve recently started Anastrozole & am getting the hot flushes & various aches & pain, it is like going through the menopause all over again. The first time round I found Menopace plus really helpful & was thinking of trying it again now but not sure if this would counteract the Anastrozole? Any advice would be greatly received.
Hi Kazzamataz , I’m on Anastrozole too, and also used Menopace during my natural menopause. I agree that the effects on Anastrozole feel like a super enhanced menopause! Horrible, but I’d be wary of reaching for the Menopace again without consulting your oncologist as I think you’re right to be concerned that it might counteract the Anastrozole. Re the hot flushes, I did a course of 6 weekly sessions of ear acupuncture at the Maggie’s centre at Addenbrookes. I found it helped a lot, maybe you could check if it’s on offer anywhere near you? I also made 2 lovely friends in the group, and we still meet up every few months. I call them my hormonally deranged friends as we’re all on hormone busters! For the aches and pains, my feet are the most affected and exercise seems to be the best thing so I walk lots. I had an aching wrist for the first few months but that seems to have stopped. Love and hugs, HFxx
Thanks for this, I will definitely look into acupuncture, I did for a shoulder injury a few years back & it worked a treat. Wise word’s indeed ️
