Hi
i had single mastectomy 8 weeks ago and was one of the lucky ones that lymph nodes were clear. However I have a swelling under where breast was at top of rib cage, consultant said it was fluid that had tracked however it is not reducing and can be painful. Anyone had experience of this?
I too had a left sided single mastectomy, but I came home with a drain for a week. As I understand it, some surgeons don’t fit drains and wait for the fluid to be re absorbed naturally. Did you have a drain? It may just be slow to re absorb. As long as it’s not getting bigger, I’d imagine it’ll clear eventually. However, if it’s not slowly getting smaller, I’d speak to your breast care nurse. Best of luck xx
