It’s the big day tomorrow! Having a lumpectomy and the surgeon said no driving for 7-10 days afterwards, presumably because it’s sore? I was just wondering how long people waited before getting back behind the wheel?
Can’t say much about lumpectomy, but I had a mastectomy on the Thursday and was driving on the Saturday, complete with drain )! I don’t remember being told not to drive, but I guess it depends on how comfortable you feel and if your having loads of lymph nodes removed (I believe that’s the most uncomfortable aspect of it, I only had one removed), but obviously can’t say! I’d just use your intuition. Best of luck on your journey xxxx
Hi I had a lumpectomy two weeks ago and drove today and felt fine .. no problems at all .. best of luck tomorrow , it’s not as bad as you think it’s going to be ..

Hi Jesse, I didn’t have that restriction and was driving about 3-4 days after surgery. Don’t think as strict here in US. Dr said to do what I felt I could but no heavy lifting. I was not taking any medication so felt fine. Each person is different and if your surgeon said 7-10 days that is his preference and it probably works good for him. Good luck Jesse on your surgery.

Thanks all, I think I’ll just see how it goes, I’m hoping to feel okay in a few days but if I don’t feel right I simply won’t even attempt to drive.
I think I’m having that last minute brain rush of questions!
