Radiotherapy

Not sure about Leeds but I start my course on Monday. Had my lumpectomy on 8 September. You will get a planning meeting first before radiotherapy starts.I am in Somerset.

Thank you.  I am hoping its not till after Christmas as I have a big family holiday before and would really like to go .

I had my op a little over 6 weeks ago and have been told likely 1 week of radiotherapy in about 3 or 4 weeks time x

i had my surgery on 20th July.

Radiotherapy planning meeting on 8th Sept at Leeds . Radiotherapy 5 day sessions started 22nd September.

I am ok . I had a lumpectomy and also node clearance on my left side . The lymph node area has caused me the most discomfort. Everything has been bearable but I have been moisturising as soon as I was allowed to plus I am doing the exercises 3 times a day to hopefully keep the movement in shoulder and arm. This also helped me through the actual radiotherapy sessions.

Glad you on the mend your operation sounds similar to mine.  I thought the radiotherapy would just be straight forward.  Have you returned to work.

I’m 70 so I’m retired. 
i have to take Letrozole for 10 years ( it’s put me in menopause state again …….. there should be a law against it ) 

I also have to take bisphosponates because of my age . I don’t like them but I’m giving it 3 months to see how I go on . It’s a daily tablet and have found them a bit challenging .
