Hi everyone

my mum has recently been diagnosed with a grade 3 poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma weakly positive to oestrogen (axillary lymph node biopsy), but no cancer Is found in the breast by mammogram, USS or clinical examination. We are told this is a rare case of breast cancer.  She is HER2 negative. We are waiting for CT scan to see if it has spread. We are also awaiting a breast MRI to see if it shows a cancer. This waiting period is very hard. Has anyone  one across a similar situation ? Please share if you or anyone had a similar situation.

thanks

  • Hi Jannah,  sorry to hear that about your Mom.  No matter what  age you get it, not easy to deal with everything.  You are her Angel.  My situation was a little different as microcalcifications on mammogram for right breast.  I had DCIS diagnosed on biopsy.  But they also did ultrasound and MRI and something showed up on my left breast on MRI only nothing on mammogram or ultrasound and could not feel anything.  Had biopsy and I had stage 1 invasive cancer in left breast.  Both my cancers were 100% estrogen and progesterone positive and my ki67 was 5 so that was good.  Had bilateral lumpectomies, radiation to both breasts and now on hormone treatment.  I am 73 now and it all started in August 2021. Feel good now and hope your Mom gets some good news and a treatment plan.

  • Thanks Barbara. So good to hear that you’re doing well. I hope you continue to do well. Thanks for your support. I will be hopeful and see how it goes. I will let my mum know about your experience. It will give her some hope during this difficult waiting period that she’s in (it’s going to be another 2 weeks for her to get an idea about the extent of her cancer etc). Thanks again for taking the time to reply. It means a lot.

Take care Barbara and stay strong.
