Hi. Just wondering if anyone on tamoxifen and experienced any issues. I started on tamoxifen yesterday and I was feeling sick a few hours after taking it and today took it this morning now been sick twice. Not sure if its the tamoxifen or the side effects of the td1 I started on Wednesday.
Thanks.
Hello unlucky39, I have never taken tamoxifen but went into my research mode and found my breast cancer resource guide by breast cancer index. Great information. It says nausea is a side effect of tamoxifen and it is suspected it is from the levels of estrogen and progesterone fluctuating. They recommended taking tamoxifen with or without food at different times during day to see if it makes a difference. Also can try eating crackers or plain foods and do some rhythmic breathing to calm down the nausea. Hope it helps as nausea is awful.
If you are interested in the brochures Breast Cancer index sent me you can go to their website breastcancerindex.com
Hope you feel better.

Hi. When I started tamoxifen I took it first thing but like you felt very nauseous. I got some anti sick pills from doc but they didn't do much. I switched after about 5 weeks to taking it at dinner time after I'd eaten which was much better. As Hopeful Barb says it ay be a playing game to see what time suits you better. Also it does depend on the brand too as different drugs have different fillers.

Hi Barb.
Thanks again for your reply. Helpful as always and had a look at the link you sent.
Thanks
Hi minion
I have tried this tablet with and without food, so I'm going to take it when I go to bed tomorrow night see if that helps.
Thanks for reply.
I was worried about feeling sick after taking tamoxifen but I was advised to try taking it before bed and then I would sleep through any nausea. Thankfully it has worked and I have not had any noticeable nausea.
Hope it settles soon.
