Hi all,
I have been a type 1 diabetic for 40 years. I had a mastectomy in July and am now having ec chemotherapy. I am taking Dexamethasone to prevent sickness for 5 days after chemo. As expected, this is really hiking my blood sugar levels, which are usually very good. I have been advised to increase my basal rate on my insulin pump by 10% for the duration of the Dexamethasone.
i wondered whether anybody else has experienced this and found a way to manage it.
thanks
Mary
Hi MTT
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. While I haven't the relevant experience you are looking for I thought I'd reply to you as I noticed you haven't had any replies yet. This reply should move you to the top of the discussion. Hopefully someone with the relevant experience will be along shortly.
Wishing you the best of luck with the rest of your treatment.
Best wishes
