Hello,
I had a double mastectomy and reconstruction (with silicone implants) 10 years ago. Since yesterday I have noticed some aching around one of the implants which I don't think I've had before. It doesn't hurt when I breath in, but it is uncomfortable when I move - a sharp, twinging sort of ache when moving, and the reconstructed breast feels just generally a bit umcomfortable. It may be that I am more aware of aches and pains currently, as I was diagnosed with a new local recurrence in December 2021 and I recently finished all my treatment, so I am now back into hypervigilance mode as I try and get back to normal. The pain is not on the same side as my recent recurrence.
Has anyone else who has had a reconstruction some while ago experienced anything like this. I'm slightly worried it could be a damaged implant, given that they are 10 years old now.
Thanks
