Radiotherapy

Hi, 

I had my surgery on 20th July and have my 1st of 5 radiotherapy sessions this afternoon . 
My scars ( I had lumpectomy and 15 lymph nodes removed ) , have healed quite well so feeling confident that all will go to plan. 
I hope your follow on treatment is not too far ahead.

At the moment I believe it’s anything between 4 and 12 weeks depending on where you live.

They are still suffering from covid backlog and staff shortages

Hi Poucha, I had my lumpectomy/node clearance 2 weeks ago today. I met with my surgeon today for my results (complete response to chemo), and she said approx 8 weeks to start radiotherapy. That’s at Southampton.

Hi I had surgery first then chemo which I finished 1st April and began Radiotherapy on 16th May. Good luck with it all xx

NannaJ hello. I had my lumpectomy on may 11th. My first radiotherapy, of 19 sessions, was 25th July.

Hi Dicha

i had my first session today and it went ok . I have to do the breath hold as my tumour was in my left breast. I have practiced a lot and it paid off. 
1 down 4 to go unless they decide I need a booster. Fingers crossed I don’t .

Hi, I had my lumpectomy on 21st July and have my planning scan on 28th September, don't know when the radiotherapy itself will start.

It usually starts two weeks later x

Hi  thanks for that, the oncologist didn’t seem to know. It’s nice to have some idea of timescales x
