Hi
Is there anyone who has had a gagging reflex whilst on chemo? I’m experiencing this a lot lately and it’s distressing me. It started from smelling cooking foods and now it’s just happening whenever. I can’t sleep cos of it. I’m on anti sickness which is controlling that and antidepressants for my anxiety already.
Just wondered if anyone had it and managed to get rid of it.
Thanks
Kirstie
Hi, I did experience a tightnesss in the throat for the first few days of Docetaxal. I felt like I might gag, but I didn’t.. it was very uncomfortable, but not as bad as you describe. I mentioned it to a chemo nurse, thinking that it was the chemo, but they told me that it is a side effect of the steroids that I had for three days, and for each infusion. A month later, another chemo nurse also told me that it is a known side effect of the steroids. Are you taking these - perhaps throughout your cycle? I think it might be worth mentioning it to your nurse too, unless you have already done so. X
