Hi. I had hopefully my last chemotherapy treatment 2wks ago and I'm due to start my radiotherapy in the next 2 to 3 weeks for breast cancer.
I have been offered my covid booster and flu jab.
I was wondering if anyone is in similar situation to me and if they have had theirs during treatments or have also been offered theirs. If it is a good idea or should I worry about any side effects from jabs with radiotherapy due to start. Currently still just tired and achy from chemotherapy. Good and bad days.
Thankyou in advance
If it was me I would definitely go for my jabs prior to radiotherapy. The side effects if any only last a couple of days but your immune system has been compromised by your treatment so get as much protection from flu and covid as possible. I am due surgery on Thursday followed by radiotherapy. I have flu jab booked for 23 Sept but definitely want my covid booster before radiotherapy. As soon as I can I will book booster jab. Good luck with everything.
completely agree with Evajean! Get all th help you can get and the jabs won't actually make you ill, it is just an immune response. Fingers crossed you don't get many side effects
I’m mid chemo and I will be getting both jabs as soon as I am invited!!
