Hi everyone I finished chemo on the 21st July and practically list all of my hair except for a few wispy bits of hair , just wondering how long it takes for hair to start growing back , and if there is anything I can do to encourage hair growth,  and is it best to shave of the wispy bits and start a fresh wirh no hair at all ....any advice would be appreciated....thanks

  • Hi Brunette 23

I finished chemo on 1st April . I had to be patient waiting for return of hair it takes a while . Sending pic of 8 weeks after finishing and another of now . It has come back curly so be prepared. You may be used to curls but my hair was fine and straight Joy I treat it gently no products just shampoo and conditioner and no hot brushes etc as want it to get stronger first. Hope all 'grows' well  Heart️

  • Thats encouraging,  I can't believe what your hair looks like now , its hard to believe that your hair will come back , like you my hair was very straight and fine ...time will tell ...thanks for reply ...I will wait with anticipation...

    1. Hello,  have you done any research on low level light therapy for your hair loss?  The units can be pricey but I am looking into one called Irestore as am taking arimidex and have hair loss ugh!!  The medical oncologists don’t seem to think hair loss is a big deal but it is.  Hope your hair grows back soon.

  • Would be interested to hear how that works if you buy that Barb, menopause thinned out my hair, now I wonder if I will lose more with Letrozole x

  • I will let you know as it is a real downer to have this thinning hair.  I don’t want to use minoxidil although it is supposed to help but I don’t think I would be compliant rubbing this over my head everyday.  The helmet is expensive but if you don’t see results in a year you get $$ back.  There is a restocking fee but I am going to give it a try.  A gift to me!!
